I am a guy and have never used an online dating site but decided to sign up for a Christian dating web site. Im just wondering what is the best way to approach a girl on most sites without looking desperate or like a stalker?

Should I wink/smile or whatever the thing is on the site and see if they seek me out or just email them off the bat? and if I email them off the bat what do i say? how do i initiate it? thanks!

Let’s see… never use the wink/smile/whatever non message things they have.

Start off with a really good subject line. Hi, hello, or hey are TERRIBLE examples. I used a dating site before and the best subject line I’ve ever seen is, “I saw you across the room”. Of course, once I opened it, she wrote, “errr.. wait a second… across the site. Yeah, that’s what I meant.” It got my attention bigtime.

When you write, use proper grammar and spelling. Avoid physical compliments like “sexy” or “hot”, instead focus on her personality or a shared hobby… “You mentioned that” or “You have good taste in” work.

And be sure to never say “Write me back”. Instead, leave her with a question.
